I look up at the stars
and wonder if I ever may 
write a song like Don M’clean 
the answer is my friends probably not

people looking down 
spending all there days on phones
trying to get a new car loan 
or pictures with someone they never met

and I don’t understand 
how I best relate to them 
when all they care about is instagram 
I can not find words for them 
worse I can’t find words for me

words that make you tap your heels 
to connect with you in some small way 
and I will try my best to wear your pain
